In his collection &#8220;Fallen Heroes&#8221;, Palmer uses thousands of bullet shell casings and a torch to depict figures such as Abraham Lincoln, JFK, John Lennon, and Gandhi. Below, Palmer provides commentary on his works, many of which can currently be seen at Lu Martin Galleries in Laguna Beach, California, or on his website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bulletproof2011.com\/default.html\">HERE.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/bulletproofart4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4781 aligncenter\" title=\"Dark Days, Dark Times\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/bulletproofart4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe materials\u00a0I have chosen to use\u00a0serve\u00a0my purpose because of the\u00a0blatant and emotionally charged\u00a0response they evoke.\u00a0These mediums already have a\u00a0strong mental imagery that is attached to them.\u00a0Around the world they are still used to either help build dreams or destroy the dreamers.\u00a0My hope is that you will feel\u00a0the emotion attached to the medium and then see the\u00a0possibility that can arise from choosing to create rather than destroy.<\/p>\n<p>It is my belief that\u00a0most of man\u2019s loftiest pioneering endeavors are hard to manifest,\u00a0and the surface of my art is as hard as the subject matter. I feel it is fitting that I have used the heat of a torch to bring about the shadows of lines and furrows seen in the faces at hand.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0heat and light of the torch reminded me of purifying strength that is forged by fire while simultaneously\u00a0illuminating altruistic philosophies and\u00a0new concepts.\u00a0The individual&#8217;s I have chosen are a testimony to the fact that\u00a0man&#8217;s loftiest\u00a0endeavors are\u00a0often brought about at a cost that is high.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout history art has been used as a weapon of war, so it seemed fitting to take a weapon of war and make it art.
