Now<\/p>\n

that you have me<\/p>\n

blindfolded and blind-sided<\/p>\n

by your kinky kindness<\/p>\n

and all tied up with future plans<\/p>\n

while shackled to the<\/p>\n

ball and chain of your<\/p>\n

free floating flattery<\/p>\n

are you going to brainwash me<\/p>\n

into being a loving accomplice<\/p>\n

like Patty Hearst<\/p>\n

or will you send me to<\/p>\n

your booty camp<\/p>\n

where you will break me<\/p>\n

down till I worship<\/p>\n

the bed you lie on?<\/p>\n

if so, you should know<\/p>\n

you can always<\/p>\n

undrape the willing<\/p>\n

and anyway<\/p>\n

you already had me<\/p>\n

barbed and wired<\/p>\n

captive and captured<\/p>\n

at hello<\/p>\n

branching out<\/p>\n

like an old oak tree<\/p>\n

he is barren and broke again<\/p>\n

until his kid<\/p>\n

climbs up his ample trunk<\/p>\n

or uses him to swing<\/p>\n

and he feels grateful<\/p>\n

that he has not yet been<\/p>\n

chopped into chips<\/p>\n

and sawdust<\/p>\n

by the lumberjack<\/p>\n

of time<\/p>\n

I didn’t<\/p>\n

throw anything<\/p>\n

away<\/p>\n

not even your<\/p>\n

misfire of a<\/p>\n

manifesto<\/p>\n

which proved<\/p>\n

way beyond<\/p>\n

your<\/p>\n

unreasonable<\/p>\n

doubts<\/p>\n

that it was all<\/p>\n

your parents’,<\/p>\n

teachers’ and<\/p>\n

peers’ fault<\/p>\n

but I do hope<\/p>\n

now<\/p>\n

that you have re-read<\/p>\n

your petty, penny<\/p>\n

puny thoughts<\/p>\n

hurt if you were<\/p>\n

18 to 21 years old<\/p>\n

and came<\/p>\n

from a rich heritage<\/p>\n

of fame and fortune<\/p>\n

with a last name<\/p>\n

that opened doors<\/p>\n

and a catchy<\/p>\n

first name<\/p>\n

that trips easily<\/p>\n

on the tongue<\/p>\n

and you must<\/p>\n

live on the East<\/p>\n

or the West Coast<\/p>\n

and it would help<\/p>\n

if you were fit<\/p>\n

and into sports<\/p>\n

like winter skiing<\/p>\n

or hot yoga<\/p>\n

plus you must know how<\/p>\n

to carry yourself and<\/p>\n

a conversation<\/p>\n

but even if you have<\/p>\n

a blinding white<\/p>\n

smile, and charm school<\/p>\n

manners and a body<\/p>\n

to kill or die for<\/p>\n

there is no<\/p>\n

way to get around<\/p>\n

sleeping<\/p>\n

with someone greasy,<\/p>\n

cheesy and sleazy<\/p>\n

it you drink too many<\/p>\n

Dirty Martinis<\/p>\n

in<\/p>\n

are even wrong with me<\/p>\n

while I just can’t stop<\/p>\n

hopelessly hammering<\/p>\n

away at the emotional walls<\/p>\n

that I put up<\/p>\n

and you put up<\/p>\n

with<\/p>\n

because<\/p>\n

you get off on<\/p>\n

watching me<\/p>\n

detox<\/p>\n

from the 90 proof<\/p>\n

intoxication<\/p>\n

of my<\/p>\n

cocksure<\/p>\n

cocktail<\/p>\n

on the rocks<\/p>\n

peak boundlessly outside the box<\/p>\n

some buddy butts in and makes<\/p>\n

us feel like a statue of limitation<\/p>\n

so we second guess<\/p>\n

our first response<\/p>\n

and wind up dropping the ball<\/p>\n

which bounces across the street<\/p>\n

causing someone<\/p>\n

to slam their brakes and skid<\/p>\n

making that ear piercing screech<\/p>\n

of a dream<\/p>\n

detoured<\/p>\n

Labor of love<\/strong><\/p>\n

I’m going to make<\/p>\n

a heart-shaped<\/p>\n

picket sign and put it<\/p>\n

on a stick<\/p>\n

and pace back and<\/p>\n

forth in front of your<\/p>\n

building in protest<\/p>\n

of the way you<\/p>\n

treat the nine P.M.<\/p>\n

to five A.M. lovers<\/p>\n

who work for<\/p>\n

the minimum wage<\/p>\n

of your adoring gaze<\/p>\n

and who never get<\/p>\n

promotions, or time off<\/p>\n

from your bossy<\/p>\n

nightshift<\/p>\n

demands<\/p>\n

and then are<\/p>\n

laid off<\/p>\n

without so much as a<\/p>\n

love letter<\/p>\n

of recommendation<\/p>\n

forcing them<\/p>\n

to pound the pavement<\/p>\n

in search of<\/p>\n

the weekly<\/p>\n

emotional paycheck<\/p>\n

of love<\/p>\n

plus security<\/p>\n
