The desert sands burned with the sun.\u00a0 Footprints melted into gold.\u00a0 Day spun and then died.\u00a0 Night came, but the ghost refused to fade.\u00a0 Instead, he turned and looked at a forgotten world, a world that he once reigned.<\/p>\n

The moonlight kissed his bald skin.\u00a0 His eyes held to the darkness, knowing the shadows were his.\u00a0 Every movement was a faint whisper.\u00a0 He should\u2019ve died.\u00a0 Instead, he was here, and he wanted to go home, a stone against his heart.<\/p>\n

The craziness was past him.\u00a0 Nobody wanted his head on a stake.\u00a0 They thought he had died.\u00a0 They buried him, or so they thought.\u00a0 Maybe, someone took pity on him, or when no one was really looking, he just got up and walked away.\u00a0 But he didn\u2019t die there in the lab.\u00a0 He wanted to, but that was not his fate.\u00a0 His fate was here, to walk alone, and to remember all that he had done.<\/p>\n

At least, he did one thing right.\u00a0 Maybe, something else, but who would believe him?\u00a0 And to let the world know that he was still real would be to unleash all that he had struggled to leave behind.\u00a0 No, they had to think him dead, believe it was over, and it was over.\u00a0 Now, he was just a ghost of a man that drifted across the sands of time with a kingdom destroyed and no love left behind.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
