
{"id":6497,"date":"2014-02-06T00:00:34","date_gmt":"2014-02-06T05:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gadflyonline.com\/home\/?p=6497"},"modified":"2014-02-06T16:44:48","modified_gmt":"2014-02-06T21:44:48","slug":"concrete-dreams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/gadflyonline.com\/home\/index.php\/concrete-dreams\/","title":{"rendered":"Concrete Dreams"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ConcreteDreams.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6762\" alt=\"ConcreteDreams\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ConcreteDreams.jpg\" width=\"585\" height=\"585\" srcset=\"http:\/\/gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ConcreteDreams.jpg 585w, http:\/\/gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ConcreteDreams-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/gadflyonline.com\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/ConcreteDreams-580x580.jpg 580w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t my fault.\u00a0 I did everything right.\u00a0 She provoked me, and that\u2019s why I was here, terrorized and now trapped.\u00a0 And now, they weren\u2019t letting me leave.<\/p>\n<p>I was sitting behind a brown, metal table.\u00a0 There were hoodlums to the right of me, and one promised assistance.\u00a0 When I looked back at him again, he was gone, and I was left alone to vend for myself.\u00a0 Then, I faced the lawyer, who had her assistant blocking my way to escape.\u00a0 I gave her the whole story, and they seemed to have backed off.\u00a0 But why were they not allowing me to leave this place?<\/p>\n<p>She wanted me to tell her again.\u00a0 I repeated my tale, and then I grew annoyed.\u00a0 I had to go to work.\u00a0 I was late, and I couldn\u2019t afford to be late.\u00a0 I thought that would work.\u00a0 Instead, she handed me her cell, and she told me to call my boss.\u00a0 I started to dial my boss\u2019s number, but then I stopped.\u00a0 What was I calling her for?\u00a0 They weren\u2019t charging me with anything.\u00a0 They were just detaining me, and that was bullshit.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t my fault.<\/p>\n<p>Silence.\u00a0 That was the confrontation now.\u00a0 Their patience was arrogance, and they refused to budge.\u00a0 Where were the people that caused this?\u00a0 Why were they allowed to leave, and not me?\u00a0 They should be charged.\u00a0 They set the trap, and I fell in.\u00a0 I thought I got away, but they hunted me down and dragged me here.\u00a0 And I don\u2019t even know where the hell here is, but they won\u2019t let me leave.\u00a0 And they want me to do the talking?\u00a0 I\u2019m ready to rip them a new ass, if they don\u2019t move out of my way, but they still won\u2019t move.<\/p>\n<p>I repeated my tale again.\u00a0 I was driving.\u00a0 This woman cut me off, forcing me into the left lane, where there was this kid standing in the middle of the street.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t want to hit him.\u00a0 I pressed my foot on the gas and barely cut off the other car in the right lane to get away from the kid, and that driver swerved off the road.\u00a0 And the one that originally cut me off braked.\u00a0 That was it.\u00a0 That was all I knew.<\/p>\n<p>I parked my car and exited.\u00a0 I had a meeting to go to, and as I tried to make my way there, people started to follow me.\u00a0 They whistled behind me, and then strangely, they called me by my first name.\u00a0 They knew me, but how?\u00a0 I didn\u2019t know, but I knew I was in danger.\u00a0 And the people became a mob driving me to this building, where that woman, who had cut me off, was waiting for me.\u00a0 And wouldn\u2019t you guess it?\u00a0 The other driver that I cut off was her friend, and they both dragged me here.\u00a0 And here I was, ready to leave.<\/p>\n<p>The lawyer was satisfied.\u00a0 She packed up her paperwork and filed it into a black briefcase.\u00a0 She stood up and gestured to her partner, who finally moved out of my way.\u00a0 I was relieved.\u00a0 I could leave, or so I thought.\u00a0 But then she held her hand up at me and gestured for me to take a seat, and I stared back at her in confusion.\u00a0 Her response was that I wasn\u2019t going anywhere, and I had to wait for my lawyer now.\u00a0 I asked her why, and she responded that I was being charged with road rage.\u00a0 As my mouth hung open and my mind spun around, she and her partner stepped away from me and out the door, and then I followed them.\u00a0 The hell with it, I thought because I was going to leave here, and there is nothing that they could do about that.\u00a0 But then the door slammed closed, and I was locked in.\u00a0 I was trapped, again, a prisoner in a cold, cruel joke because they rule the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It wasn\u2019t my fault.
