We are outliving ourselves faster than we can resurrect ourselves.<\/p>\n

We do not have time to wait, but we have time to scream at walls with righteous ears that won’t answer back.<\/p>\n

Put us all together and what do we spell?<\/p>\n

Where are the exclamation points among us?<\/p>\n

We are fed up with remedies that cure too quickly and rob us of our chance to look at our true teacher.<\/p>\n

There are rule makers around us, who do not mistake us for law abiding citizens, but for what we are-which is?<\/p>\n

Not rebels-give me the “against”.<\/p>\n

Not reformers-give me the formed,<\/p>\n

Not a deafening roar-give me an audience.<\/p>\n

We have no mirrors to break, and no roll to adopt,<\/p>\n

No bed to make, no hero to emulate.<\/p>\n

We are the un-fathered<\/p>\n

Who died in their shadows,<\/p>\n

Which we lovingly lived in.<\/p>\n

And aggression darkens our decency,<\/p>\n

Where is our deserved elation,<\/p>\n

What have we done to deserve this lethargy?<\/p>\n

We’re after the storm and the ocean,<\/p>\n

But have forgotten how to unlearn hesitancy,<\/p>\n

We desire to cause a commotion,<\/p>\n

Yet we ask for permission to use the lavatory,<\/p>\n

Riotless and rotting is our nation.<\/p>\n

We are dying of our own venom,<\/p>\n

The one we dare not release willingly.<\/p>\n

Into what amplifier do we plug into best?<\/p>\n

Where is the microphone that mutes all else save for ourselves?<\/p>\n

Who can teach us how to take our first step again?<\/p>\n

And where are the fathers to show us how to shave?<\/p>\n

Where is our bulls-eye?<\/p>\n

When a teacher enters the classroom we are expected to stand,<\/p>\n

And when we raise our hands to ask a question,<\/p>\n

Who do we expect to answer?<\/p>\n

They satisfy nothing in us,<\/p>\n

They are more relevant Yesterday,<\/p>\n

But we have no relevancy either,<\/p>\n

Though we are of Today.<\/p>\n
