In ancient Egypt there were many Gods
\nof light of grain of moon of fertility
\nof resurrection wrath rising tides<\/p>\n

Ra the hawk of two horizons, the Sun
\nat midday, father of Pharaohs and all
\nthat grew in the warmth and flood of time<\/p>\n

Bes the ugly, God of Marriage
\nwatched over babes and women
\nhis twisted body repelling evil<\/p>\n

Tawaret his wife, part lioness
\npart pregnant hippopotamus
\nwas more popular and more beautiful<\/p>\n

Thoth the God of writing and wisdom
\nwas manifest as Ibis, most sacred bird
\ngiving himself enemas with his beak<\/p>\n

Life was sweet and God was many
\nLife was sweet and all gods
\nwere aspects of the one, the creation<\/p>\n

Life was sweet for the Pharaoh
\nLife was sweet for the court and courtesans
\nfor artisans, scribes, suck ups and sycophants<\/p>\n

Temples were built on the backs of lackeys
\nPyramids built of flayed skin and bone
\nboils and pestilence the life of the land<\/p>\n

Oh history is a list of monuments
\nOh people are dust
\nOh God deliver us from God<\/p>\n

Akhenaten had a vision
\nthat God was one
\nthat God was exclusive<\/p>\n

That God was not the master of Gods
\nThat God was alone the creation and creator
\nThat One and only One reality was true<\/p>\n

Ra and Thoth and all the others languished
\nin the gardens of Amun the self created
\nbanished from the two kingdoms<\/p>\n

When Akhenaten died, so did the One God
\nHis city was abandoned
\nthe old gods returned<\/p>\n

Akhenaten\u2019s statues were defaced
\nAll reference to him chiseled from the stones
\ngrave diggers spat on his tomb<\/p>\n

And would not rob it<\/p>\n
