\nThe Wrath of Peleus

\nNamed Achilles<\/p>\n

That since the siege of Troy
\nWas lastly ceased
\nTrod no more upon green earth<\/p>\n

\nThe matter of memory is but
\nThe birthright of becoming.<\/p>\n

To see,
\nTo see<\/p>\n

That the endlessness of the species
\nIs borne upon the death of the body,
\nWater bound and taut over bone
\nAnd muscle.<\/p>\n

Rippled is the water by the ebb and flow
\nOf some eldritch moon\u2019s
\nGravitational whims,
\nIn the forgetfulness of the gods,
\nBe they dead or even if they never
\nWere at all.<\/p>\n
