Care Again!!!
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when we learned to make a phone call by voice dialing, or swiping a card to get on public transportation.
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when two household incomes became one, or was it when kids was going to prison for killing their parents. What about when children are having children.
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when the Government’s tax cuts pushed the middle class into the lower class?
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when the drug epidemic took over and destroyed our communities? How about when Aids took the lives of our mother’s, father’s movie stars heroes, sports and music icons, sons and daughters.
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when two planes crashed into our towers taking some 3000 plus lives or was it when a lone gunman shot up a school, let’s not forget those wonderful politicians who always looking to lined their pockets with funds for the poor!
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when we started wearing clothes that left nothing to the imagination?
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when we turned down getting a good education to become a street level pharmacist?
When was it when we stop caring? Was it when we continue killing young blacks for wearing a hoodie?
What will it take for us to care again? What will it take to offer up our seat on the bus to another more tired than us, or say a nice word to some one of a different culture or nationality? What will it take for us to put an end to gun violence, and stiffer controls on gun making bullies? Just what will for us to make a change to begin caring again? I started mine today!
