Wisdom Cooks
The Appetizer:
Grandma and I are in our safe haven, the kitchen. I am in m my automatic pupil’s mode and as she opens the cabinet, out come the meal for the day. She goes right to work slicing and dicing the onions, hot peppers, tomatoes, etc… with a smidgen of this and a dash of that, the meat tenderizer makes its way out, setting off grandma’s verbal artillery of wisdom. Delectably creating some of the best appetizers since Confucius spoke his first words. Most of the times, her appetizers would be very spicy and tasty.
The meal:
Now, with a stimulated palate, from the appetizers, I am ready for the main course. As the table is set, I sit down and my eyes illuminate at the fine feast before me. During this great meal, it feels as if the countries surgeon general is dining along with Zeus and the many other great imminences of
Africa and Egypt. Wow…! I am the luckiest kid in the world to be savoring such a rich and hearty meal. Even king Solomon himself would agree.
The Desert:
Feeling full, content and satisfied, what would bring this meal to a perfect end but some apple cobbler topped with butter pecan ice cream? Thank you grandma, once again, you have outdone yourself. I promise to pass along these great meals to any and all who wish to partake in these delights for they have been a great blessing during my life’s journey.
