We want the ordinary life no more. We want the Ghost Hunters, the Paranormal Activity, and the Ghost Whisperer to whisper sweet darkness in our ears. We need the touch of The Dead Zone, the sight of Medium, and the courage of the Supernatural. We desire the gifted men to bring us closer to the world beyond, the ghosts that still walk with us.
They were doctors, men of science. They knew not of what we desire. They knew only their lives, but in the veil between do they slip past and find themselves caught by the other side. One hauntedby his wife, and the other wavering between two worlds of life and death. Both desired normalcy, but there is no ordinary life. They are the gifted men in television shows called A Gifted Man and Saving Hope.
It is a bridge constructed on the legends of Chicago Hope and E.R. dipped in the Supernatural ink. What if we could see the dead? What if we walk through endless halls of ghosts wandering? Would we return, and if we did, would there still be the normal life? Or would we stay gifted like those touched by the other side?
We want to know. Have our loved ones gone? Are we truly alone? What lies beyond that veil that hangs before our eyes, and we breach the television set. We grab at the worlds, the possibilities at hand, but what hits home are not what goes bump in the night of Sanctuary. It’s the ordinary life of two ordinary men caught in the crossfire of the other side, and we’re drawn in, sinking deep into drama, and holding the strings of hope. Will a dead love bring a new one to life, and will the one wavering come back to the one, who waits for him?
We hope. We breathe. We live beyond the mundane of Reality TV and the bullshit of Politics. We cruise past the late shows and CNN and FOX. We know this world. We know this life, and we desire to escape into the television shows before and the television shows to come. But what truly sets us free is to fly beyond and see what only you could see, a touch of a paranormal and the hearts of gifted men.
