“The roadster not taken” by Ivan Jenson

Archive Literature Original Lit Poetry Reviewed

He is a total wreck
that needs to be
reassembled
screwed and bolted
hammered and nailed
polished and fueled
in the body shop
then put back
on the lot
so that someone
might get sold
on the idea
of riding off
into the sunset
with an old jalopy
that has been
around the block
but still has
miles to go
with a horn to beep
and miles to go
before the heap
