Fabio Sassi lives and works in Bologna, Italy. He started making visual artworks after varied experiences in music, writing and photography, and has been very active in the mail art network over the last 20 years.
He makes acrylics with the stencil technique on board, canvas, old vinyl records or other media. His brushes are spray cans. He uses logos, icons, tiny objects, and discarded stuff.
Fabio Sassi explains his creative process: “When I make an artwork sometimes I start from the title that can be a word game or a weird assonance. Sometimes I browse my stencil patterns trying to match them to create an unusual or surreal composition. I’m also inspired by the news and by the human condition and its shades.”
